Malta-based Booming Games has become the latest company receiving an online gaming license in the growing market of Ontario. The province’s gaming regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) of Ontario, has approved a B2B (business to business) gaming license for the online gaming developer and content provider.
This marks the company’s first entry as a supplier into North America and Booming can now offer its products to licensed and regulated online gaming operators in Ontario. The move comes as Booming has entered additional markets over the last year.
“We are thrilled to have obtained a full Ontario B2B gaming license, allowing us to expand in the fast-growing Canadian market,” Booming Games Chief Commercial Officer Frederik Niehusen said. “Ontario is the next milestone of our strategy to expand in regulated markets after successfully entering Spain, Colombia, The Netherlands, and Denmark in 2023. ”
North American Expansion Begins in Ontario
Booming has a deep roster of online slot games to offer potential partners. Some of those include Cash Pig, Buffalo Hold and Win, Gold Gold Gold, 777 Burning Classics, The Wild Wings of Phoenix, and TNT Bonanza.
“We use cutting-edge technology to craft creative and engaging gaming experiences,” the company notes on its website. “Our tech setup prioritizes performance, scalability, and easy integration, allowing us to provide high-quality games that capture players’ imaginations across the globe.”
The company’s addition is just the latest for the province since launching as a regulated market in April 2022. Ontario has been one of the most successful iGaming launches and continues to attract gaming operators and suppliers.
Booming tries to set itself apart with excellent graphics and notes that it uses “exceptional artistry that breathes life into games.” The firm works with online gaming operators around the world to continually improve its in-house slot library. That includes meeting high standards within the industry and staying compliant with regulatory and responsible gambling policies, company officials said.
The B2B license now allows Booming to bring its menu of games to the Ontario players, although a partnership with other operators has yet to be announced.
Building Momentum After Another Big Deal
Booming Games also made some news in December by announcing a deal with Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldinho. The partnership will see the legendary player featured in several game titles with the first of those expected to be released over the next few months.
Ronaldinho is recognized around the world after years of professional soccer for clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and others. He retired in 2018 with 205 goals and also was a key member of two Brazilian World Cup teams, helping the team to the title in 2002. The impact he made on the world of soccer was recognized by millions of fans and fellow players alike.
“Ronaldinho was responsible for the change in Bar?a,” Lionel Messi once said of adding Ronaldinho to the team’s lineup. “It was a bad time and the change that came about with his arrival was amazing.”
On the pitch, Ronaldinho earned numerous awards including FIFA World Player of the Year, UEFA Football Player of the Year, and FIFPro World Player of the Year. He’s also a businessman, music producer, and media influencer with a social following of more than 170 million. Booming is now hoping to harness some of that popularity as a brand ambassador and popular personality to feature in several games.
“Integrating Ronaldinho’s image into our games isn’t just a feature; it’s a revolution in gaming,” Niehusen said. “It heightens the excitement for players and is crucial for our expansion not only in Latin America but globally. Ronaldinho is a global superstar.”
The former player was equally thrilled to join the Booming roster and to work with a new team.
“Ronaldinho is thrilled to join forces with Booming Games,” the star’s brother and manager Roberto de Assis Moreira said. “This partnership transcends mere image use; it’s about embedding the thrill and passion of Ronaldinho’s legacy into the gaming experience. Partnering with Booming Games is an excellent choice. The company’s top-notch game development, worldwide distribution, and committed team make it an ideal collaboration.”
There’s no word yet if games featuring Ronaldinho will be heading to Ontario, but it certainly seems possible. Soccer is popular in Canada with Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal all hosting Major League Soccer clubs.
Along with reaching a deal with Ronaldinho, the company signed with international online gaming operator 888 in November. That agreement brings the company’s games to the regulated Spanish market. No word yet if that type of deal with 888 might carry over to the Ontario market.
“Partnering with 888 marks a significant milestone for our company,” Niehusen said. “888 distinguishes itself by offering the most secure, fair and trusted online betting environment globally. This collaboration is a major step forward in expanding our footprint in the Spanish market.”
