Online gaming in Ontario continues attracting not only players but also additional operators. Online casino game developer Octoplay recently announced that the company has received a supplier permit from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to provide slot games to licensed operators in the province.
Octoplay is based in Malta and has already partnered with major international operators like Paddy Power, PokerStars, Betfair, and others. The license now allows the company to bring some of its gaming products like Pearly Shores, Lolicat, Bullet Bonanza, Wilfred’s Wheel, and the “Smash” line of slots to playing in Ontario.
“We are thrilled to have secured this license, being the fourth license we have acquired in 2023,” Octoplay legal director Martina Borg Stevens said.”We have been clear about our mission to obtain a license in every single regulated market and this is a testament to this.”
Octoplay Now Available to Ontario Gaming Platform Operators
Stevens added that the Ontario license forms part of Octoplay’s strategic regulated market expansion. The company has also been licensed by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, the Malta Gaming Authority, and the Swedish Gaming Authority.
Ontario-licensed operators, like PartyCasino Ontario, can now access Octoplay’s remote game server. This allows legalized online casinos in the province to add Octoplay’s slot titles to their own lineup of games.
“To be awarded a license from such a prestigious regulator makes us feel incredibly proud and establishes a strong foothold in the North American market, which we look forward to building upon,” Stevens said.
The company first launched about a year ago and sees Ontario as a key addition as it looks to gain a North American market share. Company officials have reported a significant demand from operators around the world that have added Octoplay titles. However, the Ontario market has been crowded since the regulated market launched in April 2022.
“Our slot games are in high demand among players in markets across the world,” Octoplay commercial director Nick Vuchev said. “It’s no surprise that operators want to stock our titles, and that’s why we are working hard to secure licenses and approvals in all regulated markets. Securing our Ontario license is a major milestone in this journey, and we look forward to seeing our slots land in the lobbies of popular casino brands in Ontario for the first time.”
