Canadian Poker Pro Wanted as Part of Criminal Group

Canadian authorities are searching for a poker player and three other men believed to be involved in several break-ins in several Ontario areas between Totonto and Hamilton. Jordan Saccucci, 33, has $1.4 million in live tournament winnings but is wanted by police in connection with more than 30 home invasions.

The 33-year-old Mississauga resident won the PikerStars European Poker Tour Prague Main Event in December 2022 for more than $962,000 and has several tournament cashes this year as well. Other suspects sought by the Halton Regional Police Service include: Marcel Blackburn, 37, from Hagersville; Dumark Lindsay, 41, from Mississauga; and Paul Nkrumah, 36, from Brampton.

“On Nov. 21, search warrants were executed at residences in Mississauga, Brampton, and Hagersville,” CTV reports. “Officers seized ‘numerous’ items that they believe were taken during break-ins, however they were not able to arrest any of the suspects.”

From Poker Winner to Wanted Man

Being wanted for allegedly his involvement in a criminal ring would be a major fall for a player who has scored so big at some of the game’s major events. Saccucci has numerous other nice finishes in a poker career dating back to 2016.

His poker record includes a nice finish at World Poker Tour events in Canada including finishing ninth in a championship event in 2016. That included a fourth place for $71,395 and a ninth place for $27,834. He also finished in the top spot in a PartyPoker Casino event in 2017 for $45,000.

In Prague, Saccucci topped French poker pro Antoine Saout heads-up to take the EPT title and seven-figure payday. He was all smiles as his family helped celebrate his win afterward.

Saccucci is now in the spotlight under much different circumstances. He and the other suspects know that they are sought by police, according to authorities, but have continued breaking into homes.

According to police, the group’s latest crimes came on Nov. 22-23 in Oakville, Mississauga, and York. Police are advising residents not to approach the suspects and to call local police if they encounter them.

“(Police) said the suspects may approach the front door during the day, while wearing surgical masks, face coverings, hoods and gloves to conceal their identities,” CTV notes. “Police also warn that the men, when confronted, may provide an ‘unconvincing excuse pertaining to some sort of construction or landscaping service’ before leaving.”
